The Rain is Over and Gone, the second EP from Una, expands the jazz/electronic frontier by combining the young voice of Jennifer Cook with the inspired keyboards and guitar of The Mighty One (Richard Larsen), and the downbeat turntables of Eddie Barajas. Musically referring to the most noteworthy of electronic groups would only suppress the imagination in describing the depth of Una. Leaning on groove heavy beats as a foundation, strict melody as a code, and harmonic compositions that breathe life into an empty room, Una is here.

Bio

UnaA refugee from the eclectic Chicago scene, Richard came to Los Angeles to work as a producer at Quango Records. He also worked with DJ Krust on the "Konkrete Jungle" Compilation on Ultra Records, and did the Tulku remixes released on Triloka. Delphine Simonis of LA's KPFK calls The Mighty One (Richard's Inspiration), "a cross between Mark Farina, Amon Tobin, J.S. Bach and Anouar Brahem, all in one". Trained in the classics, Rachmaninoff and Orbit, Richard Larsen's program is hardly retro.

Jennifer Cook- co-producer/writer/keyboardist/guitarist- A multi-instrumentalist and full-time member of URB's Next 100 collective Elephonic, Jennifer has opened for Lee Scratch Perry, Slick Rick & Ghostface Killah, Rocky Dawuni, Wax Poetic, The Nortec Collective, Brazzaville, Shaun Escofferey, DJ Heather, Presto, Rylo, Tony Watson, Cathy Tamkin, Raul Campos, Greyboy, and X-Centric Sound System. She is now co-inventor of KCRWs recently added UNA, an experiment in Latin, blues, trip hop and soul.

Eddie Barajas- DJ- Co-founder of the HAWT movement , an underground collective for music insiders in L.A., Eddie’s experience as a turntable artist began early and has matured into a well grounded expertise in house and downtempo music. Among being Una's 1 conspirator, Eddie is one of Los Angeles’ most gifted DJs.
